Project #0028, Host a 2nd Annual Big Sunday When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade Stand (Saturday)

On Big Sunday, the only way we can help some non-profits is to raise money (and awareness!). So, last year, we started "Big Sunday When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade Stands." It was such a success, we're doing it again. And this year we're expecting to have at least 100 different stands! Lemonade stands can be large or small, at crowded events or on quiet streets. All the proceeds from the stands will be divided among a few amazing and inspiring charities who have made lemonade out of lemons: Shane's Inspiration (which builds playgrounds for disabled kids); Para Los Ninos (which provides services to at-risk children and their families); Students Run LA (helping at-risk students develop self-esteem by training them for the LA Marathon); and The Special Needs Network, Inc. (supporting low income children with autism). When you sign up to host a stand, you choose which charity you'd like the stand to benefit. We provide all the cups, the lemonade and the signs. (Really!) All we ask if that you run a stand for at least two consecutive hours on Big Sunday week-end. Please note: These stands will be taking place at most of the Big Sunday hub sites, as well as many schools. They will also be at various stands around town - just look for the bright yellow signs.
